Inbound fulfilment is where the process begins with the capturing of orders. Various methods can be employed as required by the situation.
One common method is a response handling mechanism such as could be facilitated by a call centre. The call centre can take the order from the customer by phone, fax, post or e-mail. The order does not necessarily need to come from the final customer. It could easily be generated by your mobile sales staff or from your own internal ordering system.
A more complex situation could involve setting up a secure order processing system on your web site or capturing the order via an intranet that your sales staff log onto whilst out on the road. These orders can be processed offline through an eftpos system designed to process credit card details in real time over the internet.
